Husam joined the company on 01.10.2021 as an intern in software development. Due to his quick comprehension, Husam already found himself in the team and in his tasks after a short time.
"SUSI&James has a family atmosphere for me. Here I get support in case of difficulties and a free space for ideas."
Husam describes himself as a curious person. He has great interest in different cultures, history and languages. Through this interest Husam has mastered 3 languages: Arabic, English and German and is learning Kurdish on the side. As a balance to his everyday life as a working student, he likes to play soccer. Husam recently completed his bachelor studies in medical engineering and supports the team of SUSI&James since 01.12.2022 as a full-time software developer.
He became aware of SUSI&James through a job advertisement on LinkedIn. He was an intern in software development and wrote his bachelor thesis on "Interaction with a graph database using natural language".
In the first few weeks, Husam was supported by, among others, our employee Jan actively supported. In the process, he gained initial insights into database systems, APIs and software architecture. "During the internship, I also got into the basics of frontend development and supported the team in connecting services and developing UIs."
Husam's daily tasks include writing the bachelor thesis. To do this, he first collects all the information he needs and bundles it so that he can also conduct his own tests after consulting with the team. Husam used the results for his bachelor's thesis and evaluated them.
"I want to learn more about the interaction between people and machines through my job."
It also sets up graph databases developed by our digital twins developers as part of a publicly funded project H2SkaProMo are needed.
In the process, Husam also goes into software development and implements operations and accesses to the database. He also develops tools for displaying and configuring graphs and their elements in the database. For this, Husam must have a strong thread of patience, as occasionally the dependencies of data from different projects cause problems that then have to be solved.
Here, however, his willingness to learn and quick comprehension come in handy, so that he faces the obstacles and always solves them successfully. Husam enjoys working on a project involving the representation and management of graph databases. Husam sees this project as a very steep learning curve for both himself and the entire team.
We thank Husam for the interview and are happy to have him in our team!
