Marcel Martini
| CEO
Marcel Martini is CEO and Managing Director of SUSI&James, a role he has held since 2021. He brings more than 18 years of international leadership experience in the automotive and IT sectors, covering areas such as engineering, aftersales, quality, and digital solutions.
With a background in physics and a specialization in nichtlineare Zeitreihenprognose he combines sound analytical expertise with a strong entrepreneurial understanding. Marcel Martini is considered a driver of efficient and scalable processes and a key interface between Engineering, IT and (after) sales.
His leadership approach balances strategic vision with operational excellence and is guided by a strong values- and strengths-based mindset.
Julian Gerhard
| CTO
Julian Gerhard is Chief Technology Officer at SUSI&James and heads the Innovation department, in which the technological development of the company's AI solutions is advanced from idea to market maturity.
He studied Computer Science and Computational Linguistics at the University of Heidelberg with emphasis on Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language Processing (NLP).
With extensive experience in the field Conversational AI and Generative AI Julian Gerhard has founded several technology-driven companies and combines in-depth technical expertise with a strong understanding of products. He is responsible for the strategic and operational development of scalable AI platforms, particularly in the industrial sector. B2B and B2C environment.
His work combines cutting-edge research, agile development methods and practical applications, enabling intuitive and human-centered solutions. Human-machine interactions.
Thomas Ohde
Managing Director “Operations”
Thomas Ohde is Managing Director of Operations at SUSI&James and is responsible for operational excellence, process optimization, and scalable delivery structures.
He holds a degree in industrial engineering and has more than 15 years of experience in the automotive industry, including in the areas of Special machine construction, production, quality, after-sales, as well as process training and analysis..
As a certified VDA 6.3 Auditor and expert for Lean Management Thomas Ohde has led national and international transformation and optimization programs, including supplier development initiatives and global PMO structures.
His focus is on increasing efficiency, ensuring quality standards, and translating strategic goals into robust, operationally feasible processes.
Torsten Lenz
| Senior Sales Manager
Torsten Lenz has been Senior Sales Manager at SUSI&James since March 2025. He has an academic background in Automotive engineering and business administration with a focus on business development and brings more than four decades of experience in the automotive industry – at OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers and in the automotive trade.
Having held management positions since 1999, Torsten Lenz combines a deep understanding of the market with a strongly solution-oriented approach. His expertise includes Sales, after-sales, logistics, development and quality management.
True to its guiding principle "Simple is sexy" he focuses on clear value propositions, customer-oriented solutions, and sustainable growth in complex market environments.
Alexander Fischer
| Director “Research and Development”
Alexander Fischer is Director of Research and Development at SUSI&James and heads the Research and Development Department the company with a strong focus on technological innovation and excellence.
In this role, he aligns business and technology roadmaps with research activities, patents and strategic partnerships to ensure sustainable and market-relevant innovations.
With a background in scientific research and practice-oriented AI-based software projects Alexander Fischer has extensive experience in the areas of Artificial intelligence, automation and human-machine interaction.
He is responsible for managing complex national and international research initiatives, acquiring public and consortium funding, and translating research results into scalable solutions through close collaboration with Industry and science..

Who is SUSI&James?
SUSI&James is a Mannheim-based AI company founded in 2014 that offers a cross-platform software solution for the adoption and automation of communication-heavy business processes. In doing so, we rely on a combination of an in-house developed technological platform and integrate established partners on the market. The digital employees based on this platform support and relieve our customers in a wide range of industries and business processes.
