We are researching the focus area "level-compliant behavior" together with Continental. Recognizing and monitoring safety-critical situations poses challenges for drivers, especially when the switch from full automation, partial automation, and manual driving occurs frequently.
The goal is to clearly show the drivers which automation level they are in and how they have to behave. We are developing a talking co-driver who explains the test scenario, answers questions and is available during the journey. In particular, our AI provides support when switching between the autonomous drive levels.
