Bente joined SUSI&James on 01.11.2021 as a working student in the field of software development. "I have a wide range of interests and have always had quite a few different hobbies. Sports are especially important to me in my life." Bente actively plays Ultimate Frisbee and enjoys mountain biking. Additionally, she enjoys strength training and yoga, swimming and horseback riding, playing volleyball, and more.
"SUSI&James has the right ideas at the right time and technically super competent developers* who can execute even the most ambitious idea with aplomb."
"I just really like to try new things, and what works in my favor is that I'm a quick learner." Although Bente never turned her hobbies into competitive sports, she is quite disciplined and ambitious in her hobbies. Especially from team sports, she learned to be reliable and take responsibility. At the same time, however, she is a quiet, introverted person.
Bente completed a double bachelor's degree in computer science and computational linguistics. She wrote her bachelor's thesis in legal tech on "Automatic Generation of Reasons for Judgments."
After graduation, she decided to pursue a master's degree in Datascience while studying sports management for her bachelor's degree. After her first bachelor's degree, Bente focused on the design and development of dialog systems, Chatbots, Voice control, Digital assistants and voicification. Through this she gained valuable experience, which she can now use at SUSI&James.
"I'm happy to be able to work on a complex software product that is already being used productively in many different areas, and I can still learn a lot here at all levels of software development."
In her day-to-day work, Bente mainly works on EVA, our AI platform behind our Digital Employees. She implements new features, works on Rasa updates, evaluates and conceptualizes overarching topics such as logging, NLU configuration, etc. and partially implements customer projects.
"I have to be systematic in my tasks. Otherwise, it's very easy to lose track of things. That's an important quality for a software developer to have." Bente also needs to be able to deal with problems. "It often happens that I have to fix bugs. You just have to be able to deal with that and show stamina."
Bente ensures that the rest of the team can focus on daily business by developing sustainable useful new concepts and features for EVA and fixing problems quickly. This way, more projects can be worked on and our employees can always conceptualize new uses for SUSI.
We thank Bente for the interview and are happy to have you on our team!
